O My Soul

Amy Lively

soulDear friends, I hope you’ll be here this Friday as we learn how our born again hearts overflow onto our soul and strength to transform our lives into the image of our Savior.

Our heart (or spirit) seeks Godward; our soul is our inward mind, will and emotions; and our strength (or body) is outward evidence that can be witnessed by others. Isn’t it about time we got them all in line with the will of God?

O My Soul Handout:

Please read…

Note the Godward, inward and outward aspects of these passages:

Examples:

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you (Godward);
my soul thirsts for you (inward),
my body longs for you (outward),
in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

Even a fool is thought wise (inward)
if he keeps silent (outward),
and discerning (inward),
if he holds his tongue (outward). Proverbs 17:28

Please ponder…

Bring in a picture that represents an emotion like happiness, sadness, anger – a smiling bride, an upset boss, a crying child. You can clip something from a magazine or print if off the internet.

if you need childcare, please email me or call 740-654-5423.

We are going to finish the “In His Image” series on November 20 and December 4; we are not going to meet December 18. There’s a surprise ending to this series that ties it all up with a bow just like the ones you’ll soon be seeing under your trees (yikes! I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas!).

Love in Christ,

Amy
