Friendship for Grownups

Amy Lively

Hi, Friends! I had so much fun getting to know more about each of you at our last Cafe. Your “Second Cup” assignment was to have a real second cup with a Cafe friend, and several of you have called me to get a phone number. The questions we used are below, they were taken from Lisa Welchel’s great new book, “Friendship for Grownups.”

Tonight begins a time of fasting and prayer for Pat. We will break the fast when we meet at Bonnie’s tomorrow for a prayer luncheon; please RSVP to Bonnie if you can come. Pat shared this prayer, attributed to St. Patrick, and asked that we pray for more of Christ in her life… come to think of it, why don’t we just pray this for each one of us:

Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ where I lie, Christ where I sit, Christ where I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
Salvation is of the Lord.
Salvation is of the Christ.
May your salvation, Lord, be ever with us.

I wanted to mention that Anita is running in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. You may order a luminaria for $10 in honor of someone you love whose life has been affected by cancer.

Can’t wait to hear about your rendezvous this Friday when we meet for our last Rosewood Cafe of the season! Jean is bringing bread, Mary Ann is bringing fruit. Until then-

Love in Christ,

Amy
