Dear friends, this week we’re going to conclude our study of “In His Image” by talking about the strong-armed woman of Proverbs 31:10-31.
She girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong. Proverbs 31:17
This is where our spiritual rubber meets the road, where our God-loving spirit meets our sanctified soul and is expressed in our actions toward others. This is the proof of the pudding of our own lives, the outward evidence of our inward condition. “Loving the Lord your God with all your strength” means expressing His love towards others in your words, your works and your walk. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it! That somebody is you, and we’re going to look at the example of the “worthy woman” of Proverbs 31 to figure out how she did it.

Please read Proverbs 31:10-31 in several different translations. Click here to read the passage online; you can change translations using the menu at the top of the page. Write down this woman’s To Do list for a typical day. For example:
- Comfort and encourage husband (verse 10, Amplified)
- Busily spin wool and flax (verse 13, New Living)
- Plant a garden (verse 16, The Message)
How do these tasks apply to your 21st century life, especially if you’re unmarried, not a gardener, or don’t (thank you, Lord!) have to make your own clothes?
Please ponder…
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get a gift for someone? Did you camp out at Kohl’s on Black Friday? Did you outrageously outbid hundreds of other people to get the season’s must-have toy on eBay? Have you worked feverishly all night to finish a handmade gift or assemble a toy? Why did you do this? How did you feel when the gift was opened? What is the best reaction you’ve ever seen to a gift, announcement or proposal?
Please bring…
Bread (Sherrie) and fruit (Christel).

If you need childcare, please email me or call 740-654-5423. This is the last time The Rosewood Cafe will meet until January 15, 2010! I have a special gift for you and we are also going to summarize everything we have learned in this series in one handy cheat-sheet. I love you all and hope to see you Friday!
Love,
Amy
