God Is Still God!

Eurice Moore

Approaching the third week of Lexington Café I was totally convinced that the ladies would come. I even received a confirmation from one of my neighbors and she promised to bring a friend. Yet on Thursday evening as the clock continued to tick, around 7:20, I finally realized that no one would be coming.

As I sat disappointed, the still small voice of God whispered, “I’m here.” The opportunity to sit before Him for the next hour was amazing. He loves me, yet I needed show Him how much I love Him. I came to a place of total rest, for I was willing to sit with Him even if no one else showed up. I was not going to complain because I spent money and time preparing for a study that was not going to happen.

That evening, right at my dining room table I boldly stated, “Even when things don’t go according to my plans, God is still God and I will bless and praise Him at all times!” Psalm 34:1

What about you? What happens when you pray and believe God for something and you don’t receive what you want? What happens when you place God on your schedule and time clock to meet a specific need or desire? Do you murmur and complain? Does your faith become shattered?

I pray that you will ask God to help you to always focus on His plans and purpose for your life. May you come to a place where you truly know beyond a shadow of doubt that He loves you and no matter what, He deserves all the Praise!

Know That I love You,

The Lexington Café Open House on Thursday March 4th was truly a blessing.

Coffee, tea and cake ready to be served, and I sat anxiously waiting for the knocks on the door. I expected from five to six ladies, yet I was blessed to have two beautiful women, Betty and Vernita, sit at my dining room table.

The time shared was priceless. Although Vernita and I reside in the same building and have known each other for nearly seven years, our relationship went to another level on Thursday evening. My dear friend, Betty, is not a member of our community but she never hesitates to encourage and support me in all that I do. My sisters, I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I pray that you were as blessed as I was and that you will unite with me as I reach out to share God’s love with other.

I would be amiss if I fail to offer a warm thanks to my mother-in-law for providing the coffee pot, and my wonderful husband James for the roses that were used for the centerpiece and for his labor of love as he ran errands and cleaned the bathroom.

I will host another Open House!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Although I have a vision of seeing my dining room filled with beautiful ladies, numbers is not my focus.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday! Come expecting and you will be truly blessed!

I will bake another cake,

provide an assortment of teas

and brew the beans if you will bring a mug!

The Blizzard of 2010 is weeks behind us, yet there are still these mounds of snow scattered on the ground.

During my daily walk (the first one in over a week), as I was walking at a steady pace I began to encounter some of those mounds of snow. They are too large to step over therefore I had to walk around them which took me off my path and slowed me down. Being human, I became annoyed, until I received a revelation that this is how life is.

Suddenly, I began to smile.

When things are going well, we move at a steady pace, making progress. Yet, when faced with a challenge although it may appear that we are not making progress, everything is working for our good (Romans 8:28). God is working to build our character.

My lesson: never allow the challenges of life cause you to become discouraged, steal your joy or give up. Keep moving; keep trusting, keep smiling, for with each new day as the mounds of snow become smaller and smaller, your challenges will change.

There are only 20 days till spring!

I trust that you received your invitation to The Lexington Cafe Open House:

Thursday March, 4, 2010

7:00 – 8:30 PM

I was blessed to meet a few of you face to face and I pray that you are excited as I am about meeting others. I will brew the beans, if you will bring your mug!

Giving Thanks

Eurice Moore

“Give thanks in all circumstances.” I Thessalonians 5:18

I thank God for the most recent storm, although it was not a personal one (Blizzard of 2010). There was and still are mountains of snow and ice. After the blizzard everyone’s car was buried under the snow. In our own strength it would have taken countless hours and Superman strength to dig them out.

Yet, in our complex, we didn’t act alone but as a family. Everyone was wonderful and unselfish. With shovels, brooms, buckets, dust pans, and chisels, before long all vehicles were free of ice and snow.

Life is like that! We will always face challenges, but God never leaves us alone. If we isolate ourselves, things will become overwhelming and we feel trapped.

Nevertheless, we have a loving God, Who will always place someone in our path to help us through.

I thank God for all of you and I am grateful to be a part of what God is doing in all our lives.

Eagerly looking forward to seeing you on March 4th.

Don’t forget to bring your mug! I promise to brew the beans, provide the tea, cake and lots of love.
